EksoNR

EksoNR is a next-generation robotic exoskeleton developed by Ekso Bionics specifically for neurorehabilitation, designed to help patients regain mobility and walk again after neurological injuries or conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, and multiple sclerosis.

EksoNR is used by physical therapists within clinical rehabilitation settings to support gait training and functional recovery. This system enables patients to stand upright and rehearse walking with real-time adaptive support while engaging actively in the therapy process, which can stimulate neuroplasticity and improve long-term mobility outcomes.

Features of EksoNR:

  • GaitCoach software: Intelligent analytics and real-time feedback that guide therapists on where to focus gait improvements

  • Clinician control: Adjustable levels of assistance for swing and stance phases, tailored to individual patient goals

  • Posture support: Upright posture assistance that helps patients bear their own weight with proper alignment

  • Data capture & analytics: Secure cloud-based storage of session metrics such as walking time, distance, and speed for evaluation and progression tracking

  • Patient engagement: Active participation from patients with visual and auditory feedback to help correct gait patterns

  • Progressive gait training: Continuous monitoring and adaptive support to encourage advancement through therapy

  • Pre-ambulatory exercises: Preparatory programs that help patients practise balance, weight shifting, stepping in place, and other foundational movements before full walking exercises
