Maya

Maya is an automated labour and birthing simulator designed for training in labour, birth and postpartum care. Combining the portability of a task trainer with realistic scenario-based simulation, Maya enables educators to conduct repeatable obstetric training without a complex setup. Through an intuitive app, users can control labour progression, foetal position and birthing complications, while automated delivery and rapid resetting allow more time for hands-on practice.

The simulator supports normal vaginal birth, breech birth, shoulder dystocia, assisted vaginal birth, third-stage labour management and postpartum haemorrhage scenarios. Learners can also practise vaginal examinations by assessing cervical dilation, foetal station, presentation and position. With the integrated Clean Bleed® Mat, Maya can simulate up to 2.5 litres of blood loss for quantitative blood loss training and assessment. It is suitable for undergraduate teaching, competency assessment, independent practice and multidisciplinary team training.

Benefits of Maya:

  • Automated Birth Simulation: Delivers realistic and repeatable foetal descent and birth scenarios
  • App-Controlled Scenarios: Allows educators to adjust labour progression, foetal position and complications
  • Comprehensive Skills Training: Supports normal, breech, assisted and emergency obstetric scenarios
  • Vaginal Examination Practice: Enables assessment of cervical dilation, station, presentation and foetal position
  • Postpartum Haemorrhage Training: Simulates measurable blood loss using the integrated Clean Bleed® Mat
